varthur prakash contempt of court?

Lokayukta Santosh Hegdes police, Judge Sudhindra Rao have to be congratulated for a succesful signal case for the rest of the crooked politicians who are facing trials and those waiting in the wings.
Varthur Prakash's comment that this was a political conspiracy is the most immature, thoughtless, abhorrent contempt of court comment that should be most strongly penalized by the judicial system.

Extremely baffled at the conduct of team anna. Is Anna the reincarnation of Bin Laden. Is he appointing his panel to judge others as he wants? Is he undermining the judicial system of India? the Parliament? and legal means to recourse his grievances. Corruption is now a way of life where Anna is also part of it. Anna is trying to be above parliament and judiciary. Why can't he run in the next election and become the PM?? Anna and his team are wavered and waylaid. This is not the way fight corruption. Anna is turning the focus of people away from corruption. This is unconstitutional. http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/india/For-first-time-Team-Anna-attacks-PM/opinions/13538891.cms#write

rider's recklessness

Arresting the driver of a huge bus negotiating narrow chaotic traffic filled roads of Bangalore is the police failure to apply its mind properly.. "Accidentally brushing past.. came under the rear wheels" was caused by the two wheeler rider's recklessness.

H would have been in the bus driver's blind zone.

In any civilized society, the police would not even have detained the bus driver.

What a tughalaq darbar

What kind of a Tughalaq darbar is this? Huge amount of money was spent on this root out "bogus" ration cards.

Even though no rations were supplied for the past several decades for my card the perfectly legal ration card was dubbed invalid.

Police right in law wrong in means

The police are right, method may cause longer traffic jam however. The cover picture clearly shows the car parked

On the kerb a nono zone. The never park-no sign boards are required for these zones- include gates, corners, intersections, fire hydrants etc.

In view of the fact most plots have entire frontage as gates now a days rational approach is required to deal with the problem in the interests of all. The police must have learnt the trick from palace orchard residents who deflated Cauvery theatre goers vehicles. All these problems point to lack of appreciation of the issues.

Drivers should not be selfish and keep the society in mind.

shameless crooked leader

What an unprincipled, greedy crooked politician is this guy?
Shamelessly he is justifying his fraud.
No wonder India is flushing down the sewer.

Rs 45k bill for a single dent to car

Couple who caused the damage while reversing their car have lodged a police complaint. The bill was allegedly inflated on account of new seat covers, floor mats and a stereo system.......The owner of the Innova, Rangaswamy, an ex-councillor of the erstwhile Byatarayanapura CMC,

oil- Government biggest consumer

Government is the biggest waster of petroleum products-70 percent? and we subsidize this. Why are we still paying 1990 iraq war tax? Oil is either privatized or under government control. Not both. It does not work that way.

unwanted politicians

People at one time used to welcome political parties and politicians in their midst. Their over all lordly VIP detached from people behaviour since independence has made them democratic royalty. This has made them distant from the populi. Now the dislike is bordering on hatred for the parties. They should read the writings on the wall for their own welfare.

cops complicity in accident insurance claims

Thanks to Hemant Kashyap for highlighting a very serious issue that is making insurance costly for every vehicle owner because of such fraud.

The country loses/wastes 15000 plus crores, much of it wasted in avoidable claims and health care costs from vehicle accidents.

What is predictable is the shameless reaction of the guilty, that they are victims of a

conspiracy. They learn this valuable trick from the politicians the only other people with easy access to media.

This can be reduced if the investigation is given to an unbiased third party.

But given the deep rooted crime insurance fraud has become with the complicity of the police as the only investigating agency it might be impossible to eradicate unless equal powers are given to the insurance companies to independly investigate the accidents for their own purposes.

That will require that the concerned insurance companies be immediately intimated of the accident.

If the vehicle is uninsured, driver unlicensed or intoxicated where the insurance will not cover, it should be mandatory to inform the victims or the opposite parties.

This is the root of the evil because in this circumstance, the victims want to get the compensation and it may not be collectable from the owner or his Legal representatives.

Then the collective cover up begins for the lure of the money.

Hit and run should be a nonbailable crime

Came to his senses TEN DAYS LATER? is that how much he had drunk? If he had his senses to send someone else to impersonate him, he knew when he did what he did was wrong. With the delay Sehrawat also destroyed evidence, for example his blood alcohol level. For this alone, his bail should have been denied.

Why do you think the government is thinking of charging under 279 mandatory because bail is easy under other sections.

What is your issue with someone living in London and expressing an opinion? Does it make him childish? or are you being childish calling him childish?

Hit and run with purpose is MURDER

Sorry Mr Madan Mohan, flight is a sign of guilt in law. Do you know if he was not drunk? Drunken hit and run is it a crime?

If he did it on purpose then it is murder.

What you are suggesting will make roads killing fields especially in the National Capital Region.

Ayurveda doctor ordered to pay victims kin

It may be of some use in long standing, not life threatening issues. Not in immediate and acute conditions. The pressure to compete with allopathy on an equal footing has forced the alternative medicines into this unhealthy competition which is fatal. I have known patients who died of Heavy metal poisoning related liver failure in chronic rheumatoid arthritis. Frankly the health authorities need to put a warning for every alternate medicine degree they issue.

With Merit on the decline such warnings are needed even for Allopathic practitioners. They have just become mints.

RWH getting more draconian than encouraged voluntary compliance

Editor

Bangalore Mirror,

Sir,

Regarding your 25 Mar 2012, page 5 city brief with BWSSB threatening water and POWER disconnection for not complying with RWH directives.

This is yet another nail in BJP coffin. Nero fiddling when Rome was burning phenomenon.

How Draconian can this government become for secondary causes, ignoring primary burning issues like total corruption, failure of governance, breakdown of law and order etc.

Under no circumstances should essential services be disconnected, much less for a secondary issue like Rainwater harvesting. The willless government has not yet introduced a control mechanism for indiscriminate drilling borewells, the logical step one for

improving water table.

Original plan contemplated educating and encouraging voluntary compliance. It was pointed out that the original notification was legally infirm, and BWSSB could not possibly implement disconnecting SEWERAGE services by plugging the sewr drains?.

Has the government armed itself with an even more draconian Hitlerian tactic of disconnecting power also?

Are they running a government of the people for the people by the people?

The courts suo motu should as a public interest litigation examine the legality and constitutionality of this coercion.

Have they changed the orginal " voluntary compliance" aim envisaged for RWH?
