RWH getting more draconian than encouraged voluntary compliance

Editor

Bangalore Mirror,

Sir,

Regarding your 25 Mar 2012, page 5 city brief with BWSSB threatening water and POWER disconnection for not complying with RWH directives.

This is yet another nail in BJP coffin. Nero fiddling when Rome was burning phenomenon.

How Draconian can this government become for secondary causes, ignoring primary burning issues like total corruption, failure of governance, breakdown of law and order etc.

Under no circumstances should essential services be disconnected, much less for a secondary issue like Rainwater harvesting. The willless government has not yet introduced a control mechanism for indiscriminate drilling borewells, the logical step one for

improving water table.

Original plan contemplated educating and encouraging voluntary compliance. It was pointed out that the original notification was legally infirm, and BWSSB could not possibly implement disconnecting SEWERAGE services by plugging the sewr drains?.

Has the government armed itself with an even more draconian Hitlerian tactic of disconnecting power also?

Are they running a government of the people for the people by the people?

The courts suo motu should as a public interest litigation examine the legality and constitutionality of this coercion.

Have they changed the orginal " voluntary compliance" aim envisaged for RWH?
